The Heart of Carlton

The Heart of Carlton is a unique cafe run by husband-and-wife team Michael and Nadeen Kelly, who've been part of the Carlton community for 17 years. Everything on the menu costs just $4—fresh baguettes, pasta, curries, toasties, smoothies, and daily-made coffee—all prepared on-site by Nadeen. Michael handcrafts the furniture, and the space doubles as a gathering spot with books to read and instruments to play, embodying a philosophy of affordability and kindness.
